Unique textiles that are not often utilized in quilting were combined to create this beautiful piece including upholstery from furniture makers. Hand quilting completes a one-of-a-kind modern textile art piece you will love. I use yarn to quilt through three layers of textile it will change organically it is the nature of the material (wool, alpaca, cotton, or recycled water bottles). Each stitch travels through then is pulled back again only a little so that it is not tight -by design to create softness in the appearance, this is why some distinct areas are loose with yarns for shadows to play creating dimensional effect.
This piece is signed and dated by the artist on reverse.
Easy hanging for display, sleeve is sewn on the back, this piece has a wooden dowel.
"Picnic in the Park" will be carefully shipped wrapped in plastic and shipped in a shipping tube, wooden hanging dowel is included.
