Rich beautiful modern art quilt composed of wonderful repurposed upholstery fabrics sustainably sourced from furniture makers in deep natural tones and elegant warm textures hand quilted in unique wool yarn and linen twine. You can feel the emotional charge that only art quilts bring. The name of this piece came from the winter season and the feeling of the first snow represented here in shimmering satiny silks, fabrics in thick linen textures and satins in colors of gold, hues of rusts and beautiful blues above the natural linen tones. Within the piece are wonderful neutral tones with hints of frosty blues embracing the viewer with the feelings of a snowy city scene. This thick and substantial piece brings a comforting warmth to the space. Hand pieced and hand quilted a single stitch at a time utilizing a large steel darning needle in wool yarn through 3-8 layers of textile. This is one of a kind art and returns are not accepted. As in all of my pieces there is only one "Snow" and the art cannot and will not be reproduced. This piece is signed by the artist on the reverse sleeve indicating the name of the piece, size, artist and date in permanent ink. The reverse includes a hanging sleeve handsewn to accommodate a wood slat.
The art will arrive wrapped in plastic for protection, shipped gently folded or rolled. If shipped within the continental US piece may arrive rolled and may included a wood dowel.
